1In one sentence

Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 can cut between several shots inside one clip if you write the shots in order with timings, and 2.5 can extend a finished clip to go longer.

2New words

  • Multi-shot — one clip that cuts between camera angles, like an edited video. Write it as a numbered list of shots inside the prompt.
  • Beat — one shot's slice of time, such as "0–4 s". Give each beat a few seconds; a beat under about 3 seconds often does not land.
  • Continuity — keeping the same person, product, clothes and light across cuts. Seedance tries, but you help by repeating two or three distinctive details after every cut.
  • Extension — on Seedance 2.5, asking the model to add more seconds before or after an existing clip, keeping the same scene. On Dreamina, Long Video Mode on 2.5 goes up to 3 minutes.
  • Last-frame chaining — the older trick: save the last frame of clip 1 as a picture, use it as the start frame of clip 2 (Chapter 1.6), and describe only what happens next.

3Why you would want it

A single push-in on bread is an ad. Three shots — oven door opens, loaf lands on the counter, hand cuts a slice — is a story, and stories hold attention on social media. Doing this inside one generation keeps the light and the loaf consistent, which separate clips rarely manage.

4Try it now

  1. Choose Seedance 2.5 Draft (or 2.0 on a host that offers it), 12 seconds, 9:16.
  2. Type: Small bakery, early morning, soft window light from the left throughout. Shot 1 (0–4 s): wide shot, the oven door opens and a baker in a white apron slides out a tray of sourdough loaves, steam pours out. Shot 2 (4–8 s): medium shot, one loaf is set on a worn wooden counter, camera pushes in slowly. Shot 3 (8–12 s): close-up, a serrated knife cuts a slice, crust crackles. Same baker, same apron, same counter in every shot. Natural kitchen sounds, no music, no text.
  3. Generate. Count the cuts.
  4. On 2.5, try Extend Video (next to References on Higgsfield's Video page) on the result and write: Continue: the slice is placed on a plate with butter.

5What you will see

One clip with three visible cuts, the light matching across all three, and the baker looking like the same person. Extension adds a few seconds that start exactly where the clip ended.

6Watch out

  • More than three or four shots in 15 seconds turns into a blur. Fewer, longer beats work better.
  • Characters drift after a cut unless you repeat their anchors (apron, hair, counter). Repeat them in every shot line.

7Go further

You can now tell stories; Chapter 1.9 covers what you may not make, what you own, and the mistakes everyone makes once.
