1In one sentence

After the clip exists you can make it sharper, make it longer, change its shape, and then download it from Assets in a form ready to post.

2New words

  • Upscale — make a picture or video sharper and bigger (for example 720p to 4K) without regenerating it.
  • Extend — add seconds to the end (or the start) of a clip, continuing the motion.
  • Reframe — change the shape of a finished clip (16:9 to 9:16) by inventing the missing edges.
  • Deflicker — a tool that removes the shimmer AI clips sometimes have. Upscale and Deflicker are separate steps.

3Why you would want it

Generating at 4K from the start is the expensive way. The cheap way is to generate several tests at 480p or 720p, pick the one you love, and upscale only that one. The same logic applies to length: make a good 5-second clip, then extend it, rather than gambling on 15 seconds every time.

4The finishing checklist

  1. Pick the winner in Assets. Hit the heart to favorite it.
  2. Upscale it (the Edit Video tab, or the Upscale button under the clip). The upscalers on offer are Topaz and ByteDance; for AI clips with shimmer, run Deflicker first.
  3. If it ends too soon, use Extend Video (it sits next to References on the Video page and works with Seedance 2.5 and Cinema Studio 4.0; it can add seconds at the end or the start).
  4. If you need another shape, use Reframe.
  5. Download: open the asset and click Download, or select several and use the bulk bar.

5Try it now

  1. Open Assets. Filter by Video. Find the Chapter 1.8 clip.
  2. Click it, then Upscale. Choose 1080p, read the cost, Generate. Compare with the slider that shows before and after.
  3. Select both versions with the checkboxes and click Download in the bar that appears. Create a folder called Sam's Bakery and move them in.

6What you will see

The Assets page: a grid of everything you have ever made, filters on the left, folders and favorites below them, a search box on top, and a bulk bar when you select items:

The upscaled file is noticeably larger; that is the extra detail.

7Watch out

  • Upscaling cannot fix a wrong hand or a mangled sign. It sharpens what is there. Fix the clip first, sharpen last.
  • Files made on the free plan stay as they were made (no commercial use, and any watermark stays), even after you upgrade. Regenerate the ones you want to use for business.

8Go further

Join three clips into one Reel with any video editor (CapCut, iMovie, or Higgsfield's own Edit tool). Then read Chapter 1.12 before you publish anything.
